Hooran Sang Zagros Mining Company (Ghasemi Far) is located in Hamedan Province – Sarab Ghol Tappeh Village – Kilometer 3 of the Ali Sadr Cave Road.

The type of stone in this mine is travertine, with a cream color range. This stone has different sorts, each with its own specific characteristics. This type of travertine is a porous limestone, classified as a sedimentary and decorative stone.

This stone is a remnant of hot spring deposits. The holes present in this travertine are due to the space occupied by gases present in the hot waters. The fewer dissolved elements in the water of these sources, the lighter the color of the stone will be. The amount of heat and the altitude of the area also affect the quality of the travertine.

Among the disadvantages of this type of travertine are the presence of veins and its porous, hole-filled nature, which reduces its strength. The advantages of this type of travertine include a wide variety of colors and designs, which has led to its greater use in decorative parts of buildings.
